Colors make a difference
What is Chromotherapy?
Our saunas feature an additional feature called chromotherapy, or color light therapy. Color light therapy is a technique of restoring balance by means of applying color to the body. Light therapy uses colors for their proposed healing abilities in treating emotional and physical disturbances.
Color Therapy Guide
A “great energizer.” Red helps loosen stiffness and constrictions. It stimulates the circulatory system, helping conditions such as arthritis. It can also increase the body temperature, to stimulate the sensory nerves that promote hearing, taste, and smell. Red also increases the metabolism and releases adrenalin.
Yellow helps awaken the mind and mental inspiration. It is excellent for nervous or nerve-related ailments. It provides clarity of thought, increased awareness, and connects us to our mental self. It can also be used for conditions of the stomach, liver, and intestines. It can help the skin by repairing scar tissue. Typical illnesses treated by yellow are gas, constipation, liver trouble, diabetes, and eczema.
Green is a universal healing color. Green can be used to heal many conditions, especially to help relax muscles, nerves and thoughts. The color green balances and cleanses our energy, to give a feeling of renewal, peace, and harmony. In a more practical sense, green can help with ulcers, headaches, and nervous disorders, as well as heart problems and stabilizing blood pressure.
Blue is used for ailments associated with speech, communication, and the throat. This is also a mentally relaxing color. It can be ideal for sleep problems, and gives us wisdom and clarity to enhance communication and speech. Blue is a very positive color, representing loyalty and reliability, and can bring peace to a worried or nervous mind.
Violet is an excellent color to remedy neurosis, diseases of the scalp, sciatica, rheumatism, concussion, or epilepsy. Violet purifies our thoughts and feelings, and gives us inspiration for all undertakings. Leonardo da Vinci proclaimed that you can increase the power of meditation ten fold by meditating under the gentle rays of violet, as found in church windows.
Pink is also a “great energizer.” Pink loosens and heals. Like red, it increases the body temperature and stimulates the circulatory systems and sensory nerves. Pink can also help increase the metabolism and release adrenalin.
The Benefits of Light Therapy
Chromotherapy has been reported to reduce swelling, relieve pain, decrease inflammation, accelerate open wound healing and greatly reduce overall recovery after medical or surgical procedures. When used with infrared technology, light therapy is one of the most effective and non- invasive ways to repair the body.
Chromotherapy is also often used to relieve Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Phototherapy helps with SAD by resetting the internal biological clock, helping individuals sleep better and regulate their mood.
Chromotherapy is also a growing treatment for anti-aging. Combined with infrared therapy, LED chromotherapy can be a great way to revitalize skin.
